AI that earns its keep.

We build AI into the systems you already run, so the routine work does itself and your people spend their time where the revenue is: with customers.

01What you get back

Two and a half months a year, back on the work that pays.

UK owners spend about eleven hours a week on admin and finance. Fitted agents take the routine part. The people who did it get their week back for customers, and the numbers arrive before anyone asks.

2½months a year

of every working year goes on admin and finance, per person doing it. Eleven hours a week over 48 weeks.

Amex SME Barometer, 1,000 UK owners, July 2026

£29kto £45k a year

is the full cost of an in-house bookkeeper: £24k to £35k salary plus 20 to 30% on-costs. Ledgerwright is about six weeks of that, once.

UK average is 11 (Amex, 2026). Count everyone who touches it, not just you.
Whose hours are they, mostly?£100
An owner's hour at a growing business is worth £100 or more. A bookkeeper's is £20 to £50. Set it to what yours is worth.
Hours a month on bank reconciliation alone15 hrs
Xero's survey of small businesses put the average at 15.5. Three in ten spend 20 to 40.

Payback counts only the hours. It does not count month end arriving a week earlier, invoices chased on time, or what a person does with thirteen weeks. If the admin adds up to a whole role, that role is £29k to £45k a year against £4,999 once. The audit puts your real numbers on all ten jobs.

The gap, and where the figures come from
54%

of UK SMEs say they are using AI, up from 35% a year earlier.

6%

of small firms have AI embedded in day-to-day work.

Most firms have adopted AI. Almost none have installed it. The difference is not the tool. It is the fitting: whether the AI lives inside the systems the business runs, reads what it needs to read, writes where it needs to write, and asks a human when it is not sure.

Adopted
  • A ChatGPT seat someone pays for.
  • A prompt found on LinkedIn, used twice.
  • A pilot that stalled in March.
  • The owner still re-keying numbers on a Sunday.
Fitted
  • An agent reconciling Xero before anyone is in.
  • Your written way of working loaded into Claude, so it answers like your best person.
  • Quotes drafted from the last fifty you won.
  • The month-end report on your desk by eight.

What it does, and what it looks like running
  • 01
Reconciles bank lines against invoices and bills in Xero.

Payouts, payments in, direct debits, transfers. In the order your bookkeeper would do it.

  • 02
Codes recurring spend to rules you set once.

Telephone, insurance, software, rent. Tell it once; it remembers.

  • 03
Flags the handful that need a human, with the reason.

No bill found, an amount that doesn't agree, a new supplier. Everything else is done.

  • 04
Leaves a trail your accountant can follow.

Every match is noted. Nothing is hidden in a black box.

Not consultants. Wrights.

A consultant tells you what the ship needs. An agency builds a boat and leaves. A wright fits the thing into the structure you already have, and stays until it holds.

The name, the people, the numbers
wrightnoun

A maker or builder of a particular thing: shipwright, millwright, wheelwright, playwright. From the Old English wryhta, a worker. We took the name because it describes the job.

Who

An operator and a builder. One of us has spent a career running a business and knows which hours actually matter. The other builds the tools. Every job gets both.

Where it started

Ledgerwright began as an agent built to take Xero reconciliation off a real finance desk. Every tool after it starts the same way: a real job, on a real desk, that we were tired of doing by hand.

How many

A small number of businesses at a time. Twenty audits a month, twenty installs, and a handful of fitted jobs. Enough to do it properly.

An empty drawing office with plans pinned to the wall and London rooftops through tall windows

The standardWhat we hold ourselves to

“A wright does not advise on the ship. A wright builds it so it floats.”

Nothing ships from here that we would not run in our own business. If it is not saving you hours you can count, we have not finished.
